2023 June/July – European Adventure – Part 2

Let’s continue our recap of our European Adventure here. The first page about Lisbon and Madrid was getting too long to load quickly. Come along!

Paris

Well, the days we had planned to go into the city of Paris turned out to be when the riots were going on, so we decided to change our plans a bit. Instead of going into the city before going over to Disneyland Paris, we decided to skip the city and extend our time at Disneyland. It’s a shame that we couldn’t get to the city, but I can’t complain about more days at Disneyland. At least we got a small, fuzzy glimpse of the Eiffel Tower in the distance as we landed at Orly Airport. We’ll be back in Paris soon, hopefully.

Disneyland Paris was awesome! It has the smaller park charm of Disneyland California, with both parks directly next to each other and the Disney resorts within an easy 10-minute walk through their Downtown Disney area, so it was very easy to go back and forth between them all. We stayed at the Hotel Cheyenne, which was themed like a Toy Story western town. So cute!

The rides were so fun! There were many similar to the ones we have in the American parks, but some different ones too. We wanted to try as many foods as we could, so we got a dish or two from almost all of the counter-serve restaurants and kiosks over the few days. They were all very good with many interesting options. The food kiosks in the Remy area were amazing! The crepes, raclette cheese, and potato gratin were our favorites! We went back to those several times.

Everyone was friendly, cast members and other park-goers, and we also got by speaking mostly English. Some rides were only in French, but it didn’t affect our understanding of the ride. Everything was really clean and beautifully landscaped. Our favorites were the shows and parades. The cast members were so energetic and the park go-ers were so into it, dancing and singing along. We happened to be here during the park’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, so we saw the special Dream and Shine Brighter parade and the nighttime drone/fireworks show. They were sooo cool! I hope they will keep them on even after the anniversary celebration ends at the end of September. This is one of our favorite parks now!

Ugh! Too many pics already. To be continued on the next page!
