2023 Cross Country Road Trip – Days 5&6

Lots of driving and aliens!

Day 5

We start a long driving day towards Roswell, New Mexico today. Saw lots of cows, windmills and cool clouds. Just as we got there, a flash storm blew in too.

We grabbed some Mexican takeout for dinner in the center of the Roswell downtown. LoL! The aliens were waiting nearby but the food was really good!

Day 6

Time to find the aliens!

We start with breakfast at the UFO McDonald’s!

After filling up on UFO hashbrowns, we went to learn more about the aliens at the UFO Museum & Research Center. It’s a very well done museum with detailed exhibits on the numerous UFO sightings and other findings. Interesting stuff!

You can also walk around the main street in Roswell to check out more alien themed stores and activities. There are certainly some that are more kitchen or touristy, but this museum was one of the more serious ones. We liked it a lot.

Now, it’s time to hit the road again. We’re driving west to Arizona for tonight. Lots n lots of driving…

We passed some cool roadside attractions, started seeing gorgeous scenery, and got some neat skies along the way.

After several hours of driving, we finally made it to Arizona! The scenery got even more beautiful.

We passed through Petrified Forest National Park as well. We didn’t have time to go deep into the park this time but we’ve been there before. It’s really neat to see those huge tree trunks literally petrified like colored glass. Amazing! Check it out if you’ve never been there.

We were greeted by another awesome sunset as we approached our hotel in Flagstaff for the night. We’ve gotten really lucky with the sunsets!

Phew, that was a long day of driving. We grabbed a quick dinner at Flame Broiler near our hotel on the way there. We were so excited to find one here. We thought they were only in California. It’s one of our favorites. Sooo good! Have you ever eaten there?

Time for bed! More driving tomorrow…
