In today’s post, we cross the Delaware River into Pennsylvania and go searching for waterfalls and lakes amidst the Fall leaves.

This is the last of our leaf peeping trips, but next, we’ll start on a 3-week cross-country road trip! Follow along!

Leaf Peeping

Do you love the colors of Fall foliage? I do! Leaf peeping season is officially in full swing now for most of the northern United States and moving across the country fast!

If you are planning a trip to some popular viewpoints, do so within the next few weeks before the leaves fall off and book early before hotels fill up.

If you are not sure of the best places to go, start with a search for “fall foliage near <location>“. To check the peak dates for a location, search for something like “fall foliage forecast for <location>“. Also, look for live webcams for a given location if you want to see what the locations currently look like. A lot of places have them.

We just did a mini road trip yesterday driving through northern New Jersey, northeastern Pennsylvania, and the southeastern part of the Catskill region in New York to check out the situation there. The leaves are definitely starting to change, but not fully at peak yet. Probably by next weekend though. I’ll have more details in a trip recap coming soon and more pics on my Instagram, but the above pic is a quick preview for now. Stay tuned!

Sending you some virtual apple pie that we made with NY apples we got on the trip.

Disney100: The Exhibition

Disney100

Disney100: The Exhibition was created to celebrate 100 years of The Walt Disney Company. It’s open now at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

“The Walt Disney Archives is opening its vault of treasures, showcasing more than 250 of its “Crown Jewels,” rarely seen artworks and artifacts, costumes and props, and other memorabilia.

Exclusively for this exhibition, Disney has curated special behind-the-scenes glimpses into the creation of the company’s most popular characters, films, shows, and attractions—from Disneyland to Walt Disney World and beyond.

Plus, ten magnificent and imaginatively themed galleries, all featuring moving stories, unique interactive installations, and exciting background information, will take visitors on a journey through 100 years of The Walt Disney Company, celebrating the classics from Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs to Strange World, as well as the latest members of the Disney family—Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic.”

Harry Potter™: The Exhibition Opens in Philadelphia

Where are my Harry Potter fans?? You have to check this out! There’s a brand new Harry Potter exhibit in Philadelphia that just opened at the Franklin Institute, a science museum! It runs through Sept 18, 2022.

I haven’t made it to this one yet, but went to one of the touring Harry Potter exhibits years ago where they had costumes and scenes from the movies and that was awesome. I’m sure with the advance in technology now, they can have even cooler stuff. I can’t wait to go!

Here’s what their website says about it:

This groundbreaking exhibition will celebrate the iconic moments, characters, settings, and beasts as seen in the films and stories of Harry Potter and the Wizarding World using best-in-class immersive design and technology. From the mysteries of Hogwarts™ castle to the antics of its mischievous yet brilliant students; from daring duels to dragons and Dark Arts; from glittering Gringotts™ to the magnificent Ministry of Magic – the exhibition will bring magic to life, connect visitors with the larger global community of fans of the Wizarding World, and reveal the artistry and craftsmanship behind the blockbuster films.

Visitors will get an up-close look at authentic props and original costumes from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts™ films as they engage with innovative, awe-inspiring, and magical environments and installations in this: the most comprehensive touring exhibition ever presented about the Wizarding World.
