Breaking News! Disney just announced that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience in Orlando will be closing after the September 28-30, 2023 voyage!

If you’ve been meaning to book this, now’s the time. New reservations are paused for now but are expected to reopen on May 26th.

If you already have a booking for after September 30th, Disney will be contacting you in the coming days about your options.

The Galactic Starcruiser is a revolutionary 2-night experience where you will embark on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars adventure. Throughout the ship, you’ll interact with an eclectic collection of characters, sit down to exotic galactic cuisine and perhaps even plot a secret mission together. Seek out the inner workings of the legendary starship, learn the traditional art of wielding a lightsaber, and even jump on a transport to the planet Batuu—where your mission continues at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

There are tons of YouTube videos if you want to see what the experience is like. For more details, visit the Galactic Starcruiser page.

National Park Week Day 7 – Bryce Canyon National Park

To cap off the National Park Week series, we’re going to one of my all-time favorite parks!

We fell in love with Bryce Canyon during a tour of Southwest National Parks about 25 years ago and have been back several times since. I still remember waking up early to catch the sunrise and staying late to watch the sunset, seeing the amazingly vivid orange-red colors as the sunlight shined against the vast hoodoo formations. We also did a hike down to the canyon floor and across the canyon, walking amongst those mesmerizing hoodoos. I remember looking up at them in amazement! That is still one of the most favorite things I’ve ever done.

Come join us at Bryce Canyon National Park!

National Park Week Day 6 – Gateway Arch National Park

To continue the National Park Week series, we’re going to a different type of park!

Gateway Arch National Park

Did you know that there are National Park Service properties that are not the typical rugged outdoor park? Tons of memorial and monument parks are also under the National Park Service umbrella, such as the Washington Monument and others on the National Mall in Washington DC. One monument that was elevated to national park status a few years ago was the previously named St Louis Arch, now officially called the Gateway Arch National Park.

Let’s learn about this “monumental” park, Gateway Arch National Park!

National Park Week Day 5 – Pinnacles National Park

To continue the National Park Week series, we’re going all the way over to the West Coast!

Pinnacles National Park

Today, I wanted to highlight Pinnacles National Park in western California because it is one of the newer national parks and may not be as well known as other California parks, such as Yosemite or Sequoia. We visited here several years ago as part of a Pacific Coast trip and spent an afternoon hiking in the park.

Let’s go hiking at Pinnacles National Park!

National Park Week Day 4 – Saguaro National Park

To continue the National Park Week series, we’re exploring another different landscape.

Last December, we visited Saguaro National Park in southeast Arizona as part of our cross-country trip. Saguaro is home to the huge saguaro cactus, the tall one with multiple arms that you typically think of when you hear about cacti in the American West. Well, there are tons of them clustered together here!

Come with us to the Sonora desert to visit Saguaro National Park!

National Park Week Day 3 – Great Sand Dunes National Park

To continue the National Park Week series, we’re going to climb up instead of down this time.

Great Sand Dunes National Park

A few years ago, we went to Great Sand Dunes National Park in southern Colorado as part of an epic trip visiting the parks around Colorado, Utah, and Arizona. That is still one of our favorite trips, and this park is one of the most fun parks that we’ve been to so far. Sand sledding! Who knew?!?

Come sledding with us at Great Sand Dunes National Park!

National Park Week Day 2 – Carlsbad Caverns National Park

To continue the National Park Week series, I’m featuring a park that’s totally different from Valley Forge NHP that I featured yesterday.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park

A few months ago, we visited Carlsbad Caverns National Park in the southeast corner of New Mexico during our cross country trip. This park exceeded all expectations! There were so many unique formations in such a huge cavern.

Come visit Carlsbad Caverns National Park with us!

National Park Week Day 1 – Valley Forge National Historical Park

To celebrate National Park Week, as mentioned in my post yesterday, I am starting a series featuring a different national park each day this week.

Valley Forge National Historical Park

To kick things off, we took a trip to Valley Forge National Historical Park!

Let’s visit Valley Forge National Historical Park together!
