Happy Independence Day America!

Happy Canada Day to any friends from Canada!
We love Canada. We’ve been to Toronto, the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, and Vancouver so far, and loved them all.
A while back, I sketched out an itinerary for a long “Canadian Rockies and all surrounding National Parks and cities” trip. It was epic! LoL! We were gonna do everything. I forget exactly what happened but, we had to postpone that trip. We still hope to do it someday! All the pics and videos that I’ve seen in my research look amazing! We can’t wait!
We also hope to explore Montreal and the eastern shores. I have an itinerary started for the Montreal area too. It looks so quaint and might be a little more feasible for a shorter trip from our area. Crossing fingers!

It might be best for us to just think for now.

What are you doing this summer?

Normally, Memorial Day Weekend here in the United States is the start of the summer travel season. There are always stories on the news about the biggest travel days of the year and how crowded the highways and airports are. However, this year will likely be quite different. Many shelter-in-place orders are still in effect and public places are mostly still closed. Even if they’re open, there are restrictions and limited resources. Make sure to do your research ahead of time.
I’m sure many folks are itching to go somewhere for a change of scenery after being stuck at home for two months, though. We are too! However, make sure to abide by your location’s rules and guidelines. Know what they are beforehand so you can bring masks and whatever else you need and not be caught by surprise. Obviously, even if it’s allowed, you have to decide if your health and the health of those you’re in contact with can take the risk as well. Use common sense and keep yourself and others safe.
There are many virtual activities that you can do to create a little staycation, though. Check out several of my previous posts where I’ve listed a bunch of links to various activities. You can even take a virtual trip!
Here are some other relevant articles that I’ve come across.
Most importantly, we should remember why we even have this three day weekend in the first place. Let’s make sure to take a moment to remember and honor the men and women who served and died in the Armed Forces protecting us. Here are some virtual Memorial Day events.
Have a safe weekend!

I know we’re all feeling the uncertainty of planning and taking trips right now with everything going on. Like us, you may also have planned trips cancelled on you already. I’m sure many folks are effected by job loss, health issues, loss of loved ones, and many other factors, so the luxury of taking a trip is probably the last thing on your mind even.
However, if you can do so, the act of planning a trip, even if it will take place way in the future, can also be therapeutic to some. Really! I’ve read articles where they’ve done studies about this.
I think the anticipation itself can help bring some excitement to the lulls some of us may be feeling after being homebound for so long. It’s worth giving it a shot. I know for me, the act of planning a trip is just as much fun as taking the trip. That’s why I become a travel agent and advisor! I’d love to help you plan your future trips.
Here are some articles about travel planning in the current situation that I’ve come across. Hopefully, they’ll help you too.
In my upcoming posts, I’ll feature more location specific information to help with our planning.

I think we can all use some stress relief right about now. Here are some fun travel related activities that I’ve come across.
